Math 219 - Introduction to Applied Statistics Math 219 is the sequel to Math 218, but it has a much different objective. Whereas Math 218 is a "foundations" course, Math 219 is decidedly a "data" course that focuses on experimental design. Most of the semester is spent on statistical inference procedures of one kind or another. Included are one-sample, two-sample, and paired t tests, chi square tests, and the analysis of variance for k-sample designs, randomized block designs, and factorial designs. A fair amount of time is also devoted to various inference procedures associated with regression data. In short, Math 219 is a course that covers basic Applied Statistics for students who have already had a semester of Mathematical Statistics (Math 218).
