The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship
Program (GRFP) 2005-2006 Competition is open for applications. The fellowship provides three years of financial support including a $30,000 annual stipend and $10, 500 cost of education allowance. U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens at or near the beginning of research-based graduate studies in relevant science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines are eligible to apply. Churchill Foundation Scholarships
For U.S. citizens between 19 and 26 years of age wishing to study engineering, mathematics, or science for one year at Churchill College. The value of the award is approximately $31,000 to $36,000. AAUW Selected Professions Fellowships
For women who intend to pursue a full-time course of study at accredited institutions during the fellowship year in Computer/Information Sciences (M.S.), Engineering (M.E., M.S., Ph.D.) or Mathematics/Statistics (M.S.). Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Candidates in all programs except the master's in engineering and medicine are eligible to apply for support for the final year of study only and are expected to receive their degrees at the end of the fellowship year. Women pursuing master's in engineering programs are eligible to apply for either the first or final year of study. Women in medical programs may apply for either their third or final year of study. Doctoral candidates in engineering must be entering the final stages of writing their dissertations. Special consideration is given to applicants who show professional promise in innovative or neglected areas of research or practice in areas of public interest. Award provides $20,000. DAAD Hi Tech in German Awards
Summer German Language and Culture Program for Engineering Students at the Technical University Munich (TU München). The curriculum encompasses a German language component (70 hours, 4 ECTS credits); specialized subject seminars and workshops in engineering and life sciences, e.g. Medical Technology, Sustainability and Environmental Protection, Hydrobiology (in English) (70 hours, 4 ECTS credits); project work and lectures on intercultural communications (in English/German); and German and European history and culture. www.daad.org/?p=47439. For highly qualified doctoral and postdoctoral students.
