The Center for Constructive Approximation welcomes applications for graduate studies in Approximation Theory.

Members of the Center are active researchers, working in one or more of the following areas of mathematics: constructive approximation theory, splines, wavelets, signal processing, image compression, constrained approximation and interpolation, and computer-aided geometric design. The Center offers graduate courses pertaining to Approximation Theory, organizes seminars, conferences, and is involved in a host of other activities. Please visit the Center's website http://www.math.vanderbilt.edu/~cca, for more information on the individual members' research areas and on our current students and visitors. If you have questions about our graduate program, please do not hesitate to contact one of our members.

To be considered for a graduate study in the Center, you should follow the application procedure for admission to graduate studies in mathematics at Vanderbilt University. Be sure to indicate in your application that you are interested in studying Approximation Theory.

The Department of Mathematics requires general GRE test scores and the CRE Mathematics Subject Test score to apply to our graduate program. If you are not graduating from an English speaking university, you must also take the TOEFL examination.

To apply for graduate studies, you will need to fill out forms distributed by Vanderbilt's Graduate School. You can download an application package or complete the application online by logging onto http://www.vanderbilt.edu/gradschool/prospective_students/applications_and_information/index.html. General information about graduate studies in mathematics can also be found at http://www.math.vanderbilt.edu/graduate.html. This website contains, among other things, a brochure about the graduate program as well as a description of our graduate teaching program.
