General Course Information

Professor: Brett Wick Office Hours: Monday 9:00am-10:00am, Wednesday 9:00am-10:00am, or by appointment.

Course Meeting Time: MWF 8:10am-9:00am

Course Content: Math 155B is an accelerated second year calculus course. Topics covered include inverse functions, techniques of integration, applications of integration, differential equations, parametric equations and polar coordinates, sequences, and series. This course offers 4 credit hours. A syllabus for the course is available the first day, and then here.

Textbook: Calculus, 5th edition by J. Stewart.

Attendance: Attendance is required for all lectures.

Homework: This course will have daily homework assignments. They are to be done before the next class.

Quizzes: There will be nine quizzes given throughout the semester, the dates are on the syllabus.

Exams: There will be four exams throughout the semester. The dates are noted on the syllabus.

Academic Honesty: Vanderbilt's Honor Code governs all work in this course.

Calculator Policy: Calculators will not be permitted for the exams or quizzes. While you may use them for homework, I would recommend that you do not since they will not be available during the exams.

Additional Resources: In addition to the textbook, lectures, and office hours there are other resources available that might be of use for you during the course. The Math Department runs a tutored study hall. Information about this will be give later. There is also a tutoring service run by Vanderbilt's Learning Center. Finally, the School of Engineering provides special help for their students.
