Nashville is proud of its universities, as well as its first class symphony and football team. But Nashville is probably most famous as the home of The Grand Ole Opry and radio station WSM, institutions that played an enormous role in the development of country music. Because of that role, Nashville is often known as "Music City USA", and references to this can be seen everywhere. For instance, the city's biggest shopping mall is shaped like a guitar. (By the way, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is no longer located on Music Row; in May 2001 it opened in its new building downtown, at 222 5th Av. S.)
