Mathematica Web Server Home Page
The MathServ Project
Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN
Due to hardware failure, MathServ is unavailable until further notice.
Overview
The goal of this page is to provide software tools and information
to facilitate the creation of instructional materials
that can be accessed through the World Wide Web and that require
the interactive use of mathematical concepts. This is accomplished
by providing a simple language that can be used in HTML forms
to access a server that is running Mathematica 4.1. The MathServ Project is a joint venture of the Department of Mathematics and the Owen Graduate School of Management.
Examples
Development Team
-
Steve Tschantz
designed and implemented the LockUp.m Mathematica
package, which makes possible the secure execution
of arbitrary input strings, and the
ParseMath.m Mathematica package, that allows more flexible
mathematical input expressions.
He also provides system administration support for this site.
- Philip Crooke has administrative responsibilities for the project and leads a group that is developing education applications of this technology.
- Luke Froeb established the alliance between the Mathematics Department and the Owen Graduate School of Management to develop MathServ and has contributed examples for its use in merger simulations.
