Mini-workshop on Finite Basis and Birkhoff-Maltsev problems


A mini-workshop on Finite Basis and Birkhoff-Maltsev problems will be hosted by the Department of Mathematics from June 3 to June 10. The workshop will be a part of a US-Central Asian Research Collaboration funded by a grant from the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation. The following mathematicians constitute the research teams. US Team: Michael E. Adams (SUNY), Kira Adaricheva (Harold Washington College), Wieslaw Dziobiak (University of Puerto Rico), Ralph McKenzie (PI of the US team, Vanderbilt University) and James B. Nation (Hawaii University); Central Asian Team: Alexandr Kravchenko (Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences), Anvar Nurakunov (PI of the Eurasian team, Kyrgyz National Academy of Sciences) and Marina Semenova (Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences). The second part of the workshop will be hosted by the Institute of Mathematics of the Kyrgyz National Academy of Sciences in the Summer of 2008.
